We proudly present Gothenburg as our new year-round destination! 

We will start selling tickets and be bookable at the end of November or early December. 

We start the tours week 9. 

We have now decided to fly 3 days / week. Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. 

We fly to Gothenburg City Airport which is 15 km from the central station. From the airport, you can take a connecting flight with Ryanair and Wizzair to Europe.

About Gothenburg

Gothenburg is Sweden's second largest, and the Nordic region's fifth largest city with over 500 000 inhabitants in the urban areas, and over 910 000 in Greater Gothenburg. Town located on the west coast at the mouth of Göta. Gothenburg was founded on the initiative by King Gustav II Adolf.

Culture

Gothenburg has many regular cultural events. One of the largest is Book and Library Fair.The fair is Scandinavia's largest meeting place for books and library industry. Book Fair started in 1985 and had 5 000 visitors. Since then it has grown each year and in 2003 recorded more than 110 
000 visits in four days. Other happenings are Göteborg Dance & Arts Festival, and Gothenburg International Film Festival. Film Festival is today Scandinavia's largest and it is held the last week of January and lasts for ten days. Films from around the world run almost continuously at several cinemas and theaters around the city. The festival has become one of the most important meeting places for the Nordic film industry with a fifty seminars. 

Other cultural events during the year are Gothenburg International Biennial for Contemporary Art, Culture Night, Science Festival, and Gothenburg Jazz Festival. 

Shopping 

The largest mall is Nordstan in the borough north east central city. Nordstan is eight city blocks that are integral to pedestrian at a indoor mall. Nordstan occupies a land area of 60 000 square meters and load streets stretches several kilometers underground. Total Area of the Nordstan all floors is 320 000 square meters. Nordstan contains some 180 shops and restaurants and about 150 office located in the same complex. Stores are in three planes. Inside Nordstan is another mall, Line Building, which contains a variety stores. Nordstan is the largest indoor mall in the Nordic by total area, to visitor numbers and annual turnover. 

Other central shopping centres and malls are Kompassen(the compass) which is located between the Nordstan and Kungsportsplatsen, Centralhuset, which is a mall converged with the Central Station and Nils Ericsson terminal. It was inaugurated in 2003 and contains both shops and a hotel. Arcaden's shopping mall is located next to NK. Focushuset is located next to Liseberg, with ICA Focus as the main tenant.

ANother, slightly more picturesque place is Haga. Haga Nygata and the adjacent side streets are a wellfrequent passage between Vasastaden in the east to Linnégatan in the west, with small shops, cafes and other businesses. Among the cafes include Café Husaren and Nöller's Expressobar in contemporary style.


Food

The Gothenburgian cuisine specializing in food from the sea's pantry, lobster, oysters,Norway lobsters, prawns, mussels, crabs, cod, mackerel and herring.

Gothenburg has made itself known on the international restaurant scene by several stellar restaurants. Gothenburg has five restaurants with a star from the Guide Michelin Rouge: Sjömagasinet, Restaurant 28 +, Fund Management, Basement and new addition from 2008, Kock & Vin. No less than seven chefs from Gothenburg has been named Chef of the Year the past ten years. In Gothenburg there are also old classic restaurants Valand / Lilla London, the Gamle Port and Trädgårn.
